Received a SMS from HDB today 11:02am 24 Feb 2023 to inform me about going down to apply for a expensive pigeon hole that they called HDB flat.
Not really excited to see this message as it only mean one thing – a drain on the CPF and another drain to cash pile due to the unnecessary renovation. Bear in my prices of things are already through the roof in a 8% GST environment. Next year should be worst.
But as usual, to the million dollar team, they are always saying HDB is affordable. And when a resale crosses $1M, they will say oh, that’s just 1% of the overall transaction.
Shallow mentality in my opinion. Just like healthy people do not need to wear mask, by the time 75% of the HDB Resale all become more than $1M and above, the same team of people will just oops and look at another direction.
Every level of the society are saying – HDB new or resale are unaffordable and we need to do something about it. But wayang after wayang (just like the AMK SER), the wayang and answers that we got are nothing but cheap talks and disappointments. End of the day, we are paying with cold hard cash and their fancy statistics printed 1 full page in multi languages don’t really make much sense to the people on the ground.
It’s again too little, too late. Sinkies like us just have to suck thumb and move on.
